FAMILY ADVISING

203 SPORTS GROUP ADVISING

Our advisors specializing in athletics can play a crucial role in guiding your families and athletes through the complex processes of college and prep school admissions, athletic recruitment, and career planning. Here’s a summary of what we can do:

  1. Navigating the Recruitment Process: We understand the intricacies of athletic recruitment, including NCAA regulations, recruitment timelines, and the expectations of coaches. We can help athletes identify potential colleges or prep schools that align with their academic and athletic goals.
  2. Assessing Athletic Potential: We can evaluate an athlete’s skills, strengths, and areas for improvement, offering insights into which level of competition (Division I, II, III, NAIA, etc.) might be suitable.
  3. Academic Planning: Beyond athletics, we assist with academic planning to ensure athletes meet eligibility requirements for college admissions and scholarships. We may help students select appropriate courses, manage academic schedules, and prepare for standardized tests like the SAT or ACT.
  4. Resume and Portfolio Building: We aid in creating compelling athletic resumes and highlight reels that showcase an athlete’s achievements, skills, and potential to college coaches and recruiters.
  5. Connecting with Coaches: We can facilitate communication between athletes and college coaches, helping to arrange campus visits, interviews, and meetings that can strengthen an athlete’s candidacy for recruitment.
  6. Financial Aid and Scholarships: We guide families through the financial aspects of college and prep school, helping them explore scholarship opportunities, financial aid packages, and athletic grants-in-aid.
  7. Career Counseling: Beyond college admissions, we may offer career counseling, helping athletes explore potential career paths related to their sport or other interests.
  8. Support and Advocacy: We provide ongoing support and advocacy for athletes throughout the entire process, offering encouragement, advice, and troubleshooting when challenges arise.
